This unique Hornbill & Aloe Tureen is a one-of-a-kind creation from Senzo Duma Ceramics, meticulously hand-sculpted by Phomotso Mafura and vividly hand-painted by Mlungisi Maseko in South Africa. The tureen's body is adorned with lush, painted aloe plants and vibrant foliage, creating a rich backdrop for the sculpted avian figures. On its sides, two hornbills are gracefully sculpted, perched on branches that serve as distinctive decorative elements. Crowning the lid, a poignant scene unfolds: a sculpted adult hornbill lovingly feeds its baby in a nest. This depiction draws inspiration from the hornbill's remarkable nesting behavior, where the female relies entirely on the male to bring food, symbolizing profound family devotion and provision. Traditional Zulu patterns are meticulously painted around the bottom of the tureen and the base of the lid. Standing approximately 15 inches high, 13 inches long, and 10 inches wide, this tureen embodies exceptional artistry and a deeply meaningful narrative.
