For years the elephant has been revered throughout the world as a symbol of wisdom and strength.  Elephants are highly sensitive and caring animals. This, combined with their matriarchal structure, makes them one of the most compassionate and social land mammals. They sometimes “hug” by wrapping their trunks together in displays of greeting and affection.
