Only at Ardmore would you dream of seeing elephants dancing but now you can have them waltzing up the walls in your own home! Cole & Son, the iconic British wallpaper manufacturer since 1875, has collaborated with Ardmore to create a range of designs imbued with African traditions and culture. Shauna Dennison, Cole’s Creative Director, first discovered Ardmore at an American exhibition three years ago. She was so drawn to their whimsical narratives that she contacted Fée Halsted for permission to translate Ardmore designs into wallpapers.
As well as Safari Dance, Shauna’s favorite design, Cole & Son have launched lush patterns with rhinos, leopards and monkeys, plus images of Ardmore vases, boats and plates. The design process has now gone full circle with the Ardmore artists being inspired by the wallpapers to produce ceramic art featuring the Safari Dance and the Leopard Walk. Contact the Pascoe Gallery to order the new wallpapers and inspired ceramic designs.
