Sydney Nyabeze is one of Ardmore’s most versatile artists. Recently he has painted lamp bases, candlesticks, umbrella stands and plates with all types of animals from regal leopards to Nguni cattle. He was responsible for painting one of the scarf designs by Catherine Berning, which was chosen for production by Hermès last year.
Sydney joined Ardmore in 2011 after a career as a pottery painter in Zimbabwe. He was born in Harare in 1969 and studied art at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, where some of his paintings are exhibited. He continues to paint on canvas in his spare time and enjoys working on art projects with children.
