About the Artists

Thabo Mbhele: Born in 1984 in the mountain kingdom of Lesotho, Thabo Mbhele discovered his passion for sculpting while working in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. Introduced to Ardmore Ceramic Art by his cousin, Bennet Zondo, a renowned sculptor, Thabo joined Ardmore's studio in 2007. Under the guidance of his mentor, Thabo blossomed as an artist, constantly pushing boundaries and exploring new forms. His realistic rendering of animals, particularly leopards, brings his creations to life. Thabo's talent and dedication have earned him recognition both locally and internationally, with his works finding homes in prestigious collections.

Senzo Duma: Hailing from the small village of Lidgetton, South Africa, Senzo Duma demonstrated early artistic talent, which was nurtured by his primary school teacher. He further honed his skills at Dargle Valley Pottery and Ardmore Ceramics before establishing his own studio pottery in 2018. Senzo's artistic vision revolves around preserving nature's true essence, perceiving colors and shapes in a distinctive South African style. His work showcases an impeccable attention to detail and an imaginative use of color palettes, often enhanced with metallic accents.
