The best present is the one nobody else could have found. Everything on our gift page left a studio in KwaZulu-Natal carrying two names, the artist who sculpted it and the artist who painted it, and none of it was made twice. We sorted it by where it will live.
For the table
A teapot that is also an elephant, its trunk the spout, painted in orchids by Swelihle Khanyeza after Sbusiso Ndaba sculpted it. A bowl with leopards and sunbirds climbing the rim, sculpted by Victor and painted by Matrinah at Zimele. A cookie jar from Wiseman with a cheetah stretched out on the lid. These get used, and they get noticed.

Elephant Teapot

For the dressing table
Coin dishes hold rings, earrings, the keys by the door. On this one Nathi Msomi sculpted three zebras lying down along the rim and Minenhle Nene painted the daisies around them. Beside them, an ivory pangolin jewelry box, sculpted by Motsamai Sello and painted by Winnie Nene.

For the shelf
The pangolin curled into a ring is by Motsamai Sello and Zinhle Nene, and the riders from Zimele stack one animal on another, a monkey on a kingfisher, a sunbird on a young buck.

Kingfisher & monkey rider sculpture
$750
Hoopoe & Leopard Monkey Sculpture

In silk
This summer a collector in Idaho saw our silk scarves and bought eight of them, one for each person on the list. They carry the same zebras, monkeys and proteas as the ceramics.

When one of these goes, it goes. Choose early for the festive season.
